HNA believes procuring localLY GROWN PRODUCE AND COMMODITIES ARE VITAL TO FOOD SECURITY AND FOOD SOVERIGNTY
Farmer Infrastructure Project: HNA has engaged the anchor institutions to invest in farmers’ infrastructure to extend growing cycles and alleviate pricing barriers versus just procurement efforts. The Farmer Infrastructure Project is broken into two specific phases. Phase One completes funding for Sacred Roots Agricultural Site that Healthy Neighborhoods Albuquerque’s Agricultural Community Partner, Agri-Cultural Network, manages and operates. This will allow produce to be grown year-round for anchors institutions, in addition to many other vendors and community members. Phase Two is funding Hoop Houses for farmers within Agri-Cultura Network cooperative and allied farms so that the farms can extend their growing seasons.
Our anchors are committed to increasing their procurement of locally grown food, goods and services. We understand that each contract we shift from a large national or multi-national corporation enables a local business to create jobs and wealth in our local economy.
